Gelish Cashmere Kind of Gal Swatch 1

This is Cashmere Kind of Gal from the House of Gelish collection.  It’s a nice soft grey – it really does remind me of cashmere.  Two thin coats do the trick with this one, but be careful not to apply it too thick or it will wrinkle when curing in the light.

Gelish Swatches – Diva, Cocktail Party Drama, A Runway for the Money, Bashful & June Bride 4

Gelish Color Swatches

I decided to swatch a few Gelish colors today.  I started by testing the two purples next to each other because I thought they were pretty close, and I was right.  There’s just a very subtle difference between the two.  The colors seen above from left to right are:

Here’s a closer look at Cocktail Party Drama and Diva side by side.  Diva is a little darker and a little more on the creamy side.  Cocktail Party Drama has a little more of a purple hue and an ever so slight shimmer.

Gelish – Backstage Beauty 5

This is Backstage Beauty from the new House of Gelish Collection.  It’s similar to Rose Garden, but not a dupe.

House of Gelish - New Fall 2012 Collection

My Favorite Accessory, Fashion Week Chic, Cashmere Kind of Gal

Here’s my first mani with some of the new House of Gelish colors.  The light grey is Cashmere Kind of Gal, the dark grey is Fashion Week Chic, and the blue is My Favorite Accessory.  I love these colors, and they look really great together.  You can see swatches for all of the colors in this collection here.

I did have experience a first with this manicure though… the first time I applied the polish and cured it in the UV light most of my nails seemed to have this wrinking / rippling / bubbling effect.  I’ve been using Gelish for a year and a half now and have never had this happen before.  At first I wondered it if was an issue with my foundation or if the polish was bad, but some of the nails were ok while others looked warped.  The blue did great – no issues on either hand, but both grey colors had this wrinkling.  I also noticed that the dark grey polish has a thicker consistency than any of my other Gelish polishes.  I decided to try applying again, but with much thinner coats which solved the problem.  So I think it was just an issue with applying coats that were too thick.  Here’s what it looked like:

House of Gelish – Fall 2012 Collection 1

The new House of Gelish Collection has just been released!  These are really chic colors.  I purchased my collection on ebay and prepared the swatches below as soon as I got my shipment so that I could share the colors with you.  I love, love, love the blue!  Each of these went on very evenly and smoothly.  The swatches show 2 coats of each color.

The colors:

I actually heard that there are two more colors in this collection, but they’re not shown on the display picture below and I didn’t get them with my purchase, but the names are Taupe Model (light taupe) and Strut Your Stuff (dark brown).  I’m not sure if these are actually part of the collection or if they are just other newly released colors. Maybe someone can shed some light on that for me?

I can’t wait to actually wear these new colors, but I’m not ready to ditch my current mani just yet.  As I try them out I’ll be sure to post more pics.
