Gelish Rendezvous and My Forbidden Love

This is Gelish Rendezvous.  Based on Gelish’s color pops I thought this would have been a dark purple, but it’s actually more of a cranberry color.  While I was wearing it I could see hues of red, pink and purple. It’s really a gorgeous color, but I have no idea how to classify it other than to call it cranberry.  How would you describe this color?

My Forbidden Love is another cranberry-ish color. This shade is darker and has a lovely shimmer finish.  It also has some purple hues to it, though my lightbox captured more of the red.   The lightbox also washed out the finish a little, so I took a picture in my car to try to show the color IRL.  This is a really great fall color.

You might also notice that my nails are a little shorter in these pictures.  I recently took up a new hobby that required me to file my nails down… rock wall climbing!  It’s a lot of fun and a great full-body workout, but it’s really hard to get a good grip with long nails.  So if you notice my nails getting shorter and shorter, that’s why.  :)

    Yep, that’s cranberry!

The picture of My Forbidden Love taken in your car looks very similiar to Gelish Elegant Wish, which I have on this week. Elegant Wish shrinks quite a bit.

It is similar to Elegant Wish, but it’s redder. I didn’t notice any shrinkage issues with this one, but I am also in the habit of flash curing.

    Your nails look great shorter!

Hi Andrea, I love that colour and i think it looks really good on shorter nails. This is a totally unrelated question. I was scouring Amazon for Led soak off gel polish and i came across one called Bluesky Shellac which was very reasonably priced. I googled it and seen some very bad reports about it being a knock off of the CND Shellac. There were equally as many good comments on it too. So i was wondering have you ever used Bluesky products before or have you ever heard of them ? I am quite new to gel polish so any advice is greatly appreciated :-)

I have rendezvous and I would call it a very dark magenta…or a deep reddish magenta.
