Gelaze Awakening, ibd Tabloid Talk, Ink Berry Funk
This is ibd Tabloid Talk from the Tinseltown Collection, which is a little more pink than purple and also has a really nice shimmery finish. This color is rather sheer and still shows visible nail line after three coats as seen below.
And the last colors that I have today is Ink Berry Funk. Yikes, this was a hard color to photograph… I don’t think it’s quite as blue-ish as it appears in my pictures. This color definitely doesn’t match the label on the bottle though, which is much more reddish. This polish has a frosty finish and will show brushstrokes if you aren’t careful in your application, and it has great coverage with just two coats.
This is a photo of the three colors above next to some other comparable colors from my collection. You can click on the image to enlarge it.
You may also notice that I used different lighting in my photos today than normal. I’ve been experimenting with my lighting to try to show more of the high gloss shine of the polishes. My lightbox setup was previously filtering the light so much that it often made the finish of the polishes look matte. So let me know what you think of the lighting and if you prefer to see the shine as in these photos.
I prefer this lighting :-) Thanks for the swatches!
Either lighting source is fine with me, but newer visitors and followers of your blog may be puzzled, as I was at first, by all the matte finish macro shots.
I went to Sally’s beauty. They have a new uv gel brand : fingerpaints. Have u tried this new uv gel? It’s cheaper.
I have a few of them, they’ve been around a little while now.
Yes, definitely go with the shine please. More realistic.
İ think this lighting is better :) the colors look more real. I want to ask you something. I am trying to find swaches for IBD and i noticed that you own some of them. If you have ready swaches can you please send me a photo? I would really appreciate it. Than you :)
I do own some ibd’s. I’ll be posting my swatch photos as I take them.
Great swatches Andrea. I love the glossy shine but to be fair, your photos are always amazing and a great resource whether they’re matte or glossy :)
I love your swatches and whether they are matte or glossy they are still awesome but I prefer the matte look. I guess I’m just used to the old look, but either way keep up the awesome swatches :-) I look forward to more gorgeous colors to add to my wish list!!
