Gelish Love in Bloom Swatches – Spring 2013 Collection
The much anticipated Gelish “Love in Bloom” collection is finally available! These bright, cheerful colors are bound to be a huge hit this spring. I really enjoyed swatching these colors and can’t wait to do some spring nail art with them.
I know there has been a lot of speculation about the colors and whether any of them were duplicates, so I’ve also done some comparisons to show you that they are all in fact completely unique. There are some similarities to other shades, but no duplicates here.
These are all creamy finishes, and the formulas of some of the polishes were a little thick. If you apply in thin coats you shouldn’t have any issues. Each of the swatches below has three coats of color.
First up is Gelish “All Dahlia-ed Up”. This is a striking bright pink. The closest comparison that I found to this color was Gossip Girl, except GG was a little pinker.
Gelish “A Petal For Your Thoughts” is a lighter shade of pink that also has some orange tones to it.
Gelish “Sweet Morning Dew” is like no other shade I have seen by this brand. It’s a soft, light orange with peachy tones. I just love this one.
Gelish “A Mint of Spring” is a hard color to describe. When I saw the pictures of the bottle I thought this was going to be more of a minty green, but it definitely has some blue tones to it. I did a comparison of this next to Sea Foam.
Gelish “Garden Teal Party” is a gorgeous teal blue. A close comparison to this color is My Favorite Accessory, but this is a few shades lighter. I love wearing blue, so I have a feeling this is going to get some use :)
And the last color is Gelish “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” – a bright lavender that’s unlike any other Gelish polish I’ve seen. I had a bit of a hard time capturing the color with my camera – it was making it more blue than it is so I did have to do a little color adjustment to try to get it as close as possible. I wore this color to work today and couldn’t stop looking at it all day… absolutely in love with this shade.
Update 3/4/13: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not is a fader! After wearing this color for a length of time the color turns into more of a Periwinkle blue. I experienced this first-hand and have read several complaints on the Gelish FB page. :(
I’m wearing “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not” right now too. In certain lighting it definitely looks more blue than purple. It’s a beautiful color though!
These colours look amazing. Thank you for all the work you’ve done on them. I think Morning Dew will look good on a hot day in summer and I think He Loves Me is going to be a must-have.
The other colours also look amazing and it will just depend on my willpower whether I will be able to resist when it comes to ordering time.
I LOVE these colors!! I have the full-size collection sitting in my amazon checkout right now. We are on a two hr delay where I work, so I will be able to take some time and order some new polishes this morning. I should have Less Talk waiting in my mailbox when I get home from work. I’m like you and change my polish probably too frequently. I love your site!
Thanks! Enjoy your new colors. It’s hard to leave the polish on for too long when there are so many fun colors just waiting to be worn! ;)
I adore your swatches, photos and clean blog layout! xo
Im so dissapointed, he loves me he loves not is such a beautiful color… I applied it on my friends nails, 1week later i saw her again,… The purple was gone… Blue color with grey undertone. :( not happy…
Yes, I actually wore that color for a week or so and experienced the fading as well. Several other people have left similar comments on the Gelish facebook page. It’s very disappointing.
I love this new line! However, I applied Sweet Morning Dew tonight and found it to be super thick. I tried to do thin layers but they didn’t apply very smooth, so I tried a bit too thick and it rippled :( I’m so disappointed as I absolutely love the color. Any recommendations, and did you have any issues with this color?
I had trouble with this one the first time I applied it and I’ve heard of others having this issue as well. One trick is to make sure the polish is warm before you use it. It may sound silly, but I’ve heard some people say they tuck it in a pocket or in their bra or pant line for a little bit to give it some body heat before applying! LOL
I have the same issue as Rochelle when I applied “a mint of spring”…absolutely LOVE the color, but it was so thick to apply, just like regular nail polish gone dry…it was giving streaks and bubbles and unevenness. The quality is not like any gelish or any IBD I have used. I didn’t think mine was cold in anyway since it’s 80 degree and up where I live. Anyone other suggestions? I did call the company I bought it from and they are nice enough to exchange it, but I am just afraid that it will be the same when I receive it.
I just tested the Sweet Morning Dew color with some gel polish thinner added to it and the consistency was much better and I didn’t have any wrinkling when applying thicker coats. http://www.esthersnc.com/nail-polish/daisy-gel-polish/gel-polish-thinner/
I would like to know where i can bought this varnishes?
Thanks
I just bought Garden Teal Party and now I wish I bought mint of spring instead. I didn’t look at swatches first :( I was too excited because I just got a LED light and a gel starter kit.
have you noticed that the gelish colors a a little more watery than other gel color brands? Also the base coat is super thick!
It depends on the color – some are thinner, some are thick. I like the thick base, gives good coverage and adds lots of strength. :)
