I’ve mentioned many times in my nail art posts that I like to use Gelish Foundation as the “glue” to hold my gems, and I also use a little extra around the base of the gems to reinforce them before top coating.

Given that Foundation is a 5sec cure in LED, do you find the 30sec cure holds the gems in place better?
I’m just in the habit of curing most of my coats for 30 seconds. I don’t know that it will make the foundation any stronger than the normal curing time.

Just a quick question…..I have tried ‘glueing’ gems on with gel polish in the past and I’ve found that as soon as the polish hits the stones they lose their sparkle and become flat with no shine. Have you had this happen to you at all? Does it depend on the type of stones you use? I too have used the gelish top it off when this happened. Thanking you in advance
It may depend on the type of stone you’re using. Mine have always been sparkly.
Swarovski Crystals will be really sparkly and not lose their shine. It depends on the quality of the crystal you use. Swarovski ones are also reusable however it might be difficult to reclaim them from the gel!
Do you have any recommendations on the best way to remove the rhinestones during soak off?
Can you use gelish with cnd shellac if not what else would be good for sticking the gems on please
You can use any gel top coat for adhering the gems, or better yet, a hard gel.
