Video: Gelish Striped Gradient Tutorial

I received a lot of questions about the technique behind the striped gradient nail art that I posted recently.  I decided to make a video tutorial to show you how it’s done.  I’m still very new to this video thing so I look forward to hearing your feedback and suggestions. Let me know how I did and what I can improve on for next time.  Enjoy!

Here are links to some of the supplies used in the video:

I have had trouble when reminding the striping tape. It pulls up more if the gel. Should I maybe try curing longer or not as long? Any help would be must appreciated! Love your tutorials!

    Hi Andrea,

I was wondering in this video (wiping the tackiness off the nail after the second coat to apply the tape) is that concept the same with any brand gel polish?

I did all steps and I was going to do some designs but when I wiped the nail with alcohol after the 2nd coat being cured the polish just got dull and some of the (IBD) polish transfer onto the napkin but not all. I got nervous so I just went ahead n continue with the reg gel application. The polish did look dull so I did reapply a third coat, cured and topped it off. All was fine once done. Did I do something wrong or is it because I used the (IBD) brand and it might work differently? Thanks for your time and help.

    Hey,
I tried the striping tape today it worked really well but when I wiped the tacky layer after the 2 coats of colour on some nails you could see through the costs almost looked like the colour wiped away on the lint free wipe (didn’t happen on all nails) so the colour looked a bit patchy. Could you tell me where I’m going wrong & how to solve it please.
    Thank you!
    Zoe

    Hi Andrea,

thanks a lot for the videos and the swatches! I must say that the latter really helped me choosing colors through the internet!
One question, removing the tacky layer does it not affect how long the gel lasts?
I would think it would peel-off quicker as the tackiness helps the layers stick to each other.

    Thanks,
    Athina
