Tropical Beach Sunset Nails
I started with a yellow base using TruGel Smoke and Mirrors. Then I created a gradient using three colors from the TruGel Ringleader collection… Smoke & Mirrors (yellow), Hoop of Flames (coral), and Freaky Fete (purple). I used the technique that Shannon demonstrates in this video, except I did it horizontally instead of vertically. I started with the yellow and coral, and then did it again near the top with the coral and purple. The result was a little streaky, but it still looked pretty good. I applied one coat of Gelish Vegas Nights over top for some sparkle and then a thin coat of my Gelish TIO.
I stamped the palm trees onto each nail using an image from the Cheeky Jumbo Tropical Holiday plate and Mundo de Unas black stamping polish. The palm tree image on this plate had a hollow trunk so I filled that in with a small brush and the black polish and I also filled in some of the black at the tips with a brush. I also removed the little hollow sun from the image using a Q-Tip and remover. I let the black stamping polish dry for a bit and then finished the mani off with a final coat of TIO.
Here is a pic of what the gradient looked like before adding the palm trees.
I cannot fathom being able to do this!!!
Hi! I looooove your nails and the deisng you create! I also have a question for you, its not about this particular mani but I hope you can help me…what glue or gel do you use yo place rhinestones on top of the nails after the gle polish its cured? Ive been using all the gelish nail polishes and before putting the TIO I put a layer of Structure soak off gel by Gelish, then place the rhinestones or glitters or whatever Im using, then cure it and then I apply another 3 thin laters of structure just to make sure they will last on the nails for more the 2 weeks, but my concern is that I just a lot of product to put the rhinestones and I was wondering if you have any other tecnique
Absolutely gorgeous! and genius going vertical instead of horizontal!
I will be trying this soon. Question: can I get a cheaper version of the stamps (I am just starting to do my own nails) and don’t wish to spend $80 on that kit just yet.
Thanks for your help.
**correction – horizontal instead of vertical**
I love this! Have a wonderful vaca!
so pretty
Love it! So beautiful. Its nicely and neatly done. Great job!
I love Vegas Nights! And it looks great on this mani. Now I’ve been looking for a glitter topper that is strictly silver glitter…with no holographic. Is Emerald Dust just silver glitter or would Champagne be more of what I’m looking for? Thanks!
I don’t remember if Emerald Dust has any holographic effects to it. I think most of the Gelish glitter toppers do. Champagne looks best worn on it’s own in my opinion.
