Splatter Nail Art

I’ve been wanting to try a colorful splatter manicure ever since I did my Halloween blood splatter nails.  It’s easy and fun, although a little messy.  I started with two coats of Cult Nails Nevermore, and then used four brighter colors for the splatter.  To get the  effect, I used little stirring straws and dipped one end into the polish and then blew through the other end of the straw to make it splatter onto my nails.  It does make a mess, so lots of clean-up is required when you’re done.  I topped the splatter off with two coats of Seche Vite for a smooth finish.

Love the splatter nails! Is it possible to do splatter nails with Gelish? If so, any ideas on how?

Hi Abigail. Yes, you can do a splatter mani with Gelish. The concept is the same – apply a base color and then use a straw to blow on some splatters. You will have to be very meticulous in the clean-up though and make sure to get any polish off of the cuticles and skin before curing. I recommend trying it with creamy colors that you know don’t wrinkle if they are applied to thick. :)
