Polish Days Something New Theme: Water Marble
The theme for Polish Days this month is “Something New”. I have long been wanting to try water marbling, so this was the perfect time to give it a shot. Wow… this technique is very challenging!!! I have a whole new respect for nail artists that have mastered water marbling. I watched several videos on YouTube to see how the technique works. Here are a couple of my favorites:
I really wanted to do this flower technique, but alas I didn’t have much luck at creating fancy designs my first time around. In retrospect I think I needed to use a tool that’s much smaller/thinner like a needle to make the designs in the polish. I was trying to use an orange stick and the polish kept lifting up out of the water when I pulled on it.
I used some cheaper polishes to do this since. The colors used were Jordana White Pearl, Electric Blue, Sapphire, and Purple Punch. The designs didn’t turn out as elaborate as I had hoped, but I will definitely try this again sometime soon!
BTW, if you follow me on Facebook you might have already seen this design since I posted a sneak peek last week. :)
This came out pretty neat. I love the colors you used.
Love the colors you’ve used!
For a first time watermarbling this is such a great job!
Oh, this is lovely! Water marbles are so pretty, and the colours are great. I also love when they’re an accent… and then the rhinestones… ahh, so pretty and delicate. Great work!
I don’t know what you were hoping for but these look stunning xx
Such a beautiful color combo!
Oooo so pretty. I did water marble for mine too. I am definitely gonna try it with metallics soon!
It is gorgeous! I love the colors and the marble itself. I think this abstract pattern even more beautiful than if you were able to master a flower :)
This is gorgeous! My attempt at marbling for this was a huge fail! :)
I have tried water marbles several times and end up with nothing to show for it but polish fumes in the air and newly acetone scrubbed fingernails after 2 hours of trying. I would be thrilled if my water marbles turned out as pretty as yours.
I live in the US, and I cant’ really find any Kiko polishes. I specifically want these colors. Do you know where I can find them?
