MelodySusie 24-Watt LED Nail Lamp Review

MelodySusie 24-Watt LED Nail Lamp - video review by Chickettes.comMelodySusie sent me their newest nail lamp for review, a 24-watt LED lamp.  I recorded a full video review with a demo that you can watch below.  I’ll just recap the highlights real quick…

  • Available in 3 colors; silver, black & white
  • Three timer settings; 15, 30 and 60 seconds
  • Fits all 5 fingers at once
  • Lightweight and portable
  • Awesome curing power at 24-watts (twelve 2-watt bulbs)
  • Extremely affordable
  • Sleek design

I really love everything about this lamp.  It’s nice to look at, and very easy to use… just press your timer setting and the lamp automatically turns off when the time is up.  It doesn’t have a sensor or any extra bells & whistles, but it does the job!

This MelodySusie lamp has all of the qualities that I look for in a lamp… it fits the whole hand, is portable, powerful and affordable!  I also like the MelodySusie 12-watt LED lamp (see that review here), but this one has double the curing power.  If you’ve ever read or watched any of my previous nail lamp reviews or posts, you’ll know that I dislike the small 4-finger low-wattage lamps.  They just don’t have enough power to cure all polishes, and I hate spending extra time curing my thumbs separately.

If you’re in the market for a good quality LED lamp, I definitely recommend this one.  I’ve been using it for swatching over the past few weeks and haven’t had a single issue with it – all of my polishes have cured perfectly.

You can find the MelodySusie 24-watt LED lamp here on Amazon.com It’s currently on sale on for $69.99 (retail $99.99).

Chickettes readers can also save an additional $10 on this lamp!  This offer is only valid for 4 days and expires on March 22nd at midnight PDT.  Use coupon code KMQYY5EA when checking out on Amazon to receive this discount.

I tried using the code at checkout for the LED lamp and it isn’t working. Any ideas on why?? Been looking or a good LED and this looks perfect- REALLY want to purchase!!!

  2. Sandra Dee says:

For some reason or another the $10 off code isn’t being recognized by Amazon. I’m assuming I enter at the checkout or is the code to be used through the companies website? Thanks for your help and review.

  3. Rebekah says:

I’m having the same issue as the ladies above… Please help

  4. Brandie says:

I just tried the code as well with no luck.

Hi, Andrea! I’ve been debating about purchasing a new gel lamp and have been looking at the Gelish 18G LED Lamp for quite some time. Disregarding price, which of the two (the Gelish 18G LED Lamp and the one above) would you recommend more? Is it worth it to purchase the more expensive one? Or do you think this one is a comparable choice?

Hope to hear from you soon!

    • Andrea says:

If you take price out of the equation I still love my 18G, although my sensor recently stopped working (after about 2 years of use). It has a little more curing power and a couple little extras including an auto-detect on/off sensor and a sliding shield that blocks the light. Since my sensor has broken though I’ve been using the MS 24-watt lamp for just about everything lately. When you factor the price in, this lamp is a really great buy. I don’t think you could go wrong with either one.

  7. joanna says:

Do you feel the lamp has enough power that being without mirrors is not an issue?? I have this lamp and was just curious….seems 95% of lamps on the market have a mirrored interior.

    • Andrea says:

I hadn’t thought of that, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue. It cures great.

      • joanna says:

Yes Ive not had any issues, I suppose if the light are placed properly and there are enough of them…there is no need for mirrors.

        • Angela says:

I’ve been finding that, with no mirrors, the gel that wraps the tips does not cure properly and my Pink Gelac Smoked Grey does not cure even at 1 min 30 sec.

  8. Chelsea says:

Leaving a reply so I can see when the coupon code issue has been resolved… I would love to purchase! :)

Me too! I’m dying to make this purchase just a soon as the coupon issue is resolved.

  14. Megan says:

Just a heads up… The code works when purchasing the white lamp! For some reason though it doesn’t work for the other two colors. This was such a great deal for what looks like such a fabulous product that I just had to figure out how to get the code to work!

  15. Angela says:

This has been on my wish list since Christmas. I’m thinking this is the lamp for me. Please let me know when you get the coupon code resolved. Thanks so much.

Code worked for silver. I got one. thanks! Great Review!

  22. Janine says:

Great! I am going to try this. I can still take advantage of the promo. I hope I receive it in time for our bridal shower. Thanks!

  23. Roxana says:

I got one, to upgrade my old Red Carpet one. Thank you!

  24. Connie says:

Andrea, thanks for the review. I purchased the Gelish 18G earlier in the year based on your review and LOVE it! However, I’m hesitant to carry the 18G while traveling. Your video and review convinced me this is the perfect unit to meet my travel needs. I just ordered in Silver and the code worked perfectly. Thank you!

  25. Jennifer says:

Thank You! So excited to get mine in the mail! I have been wanting to upgrade from my RMC “pro” and this has everything I need and a great price.

  26. Hayley says:

I would have loved to jump on this but unfortunately I live in Canada and not only is MelodySusie LED lamp not on sale, but it actually jumps the price up to $143.22.
I’ve been looking for a nice LED/UV lamp that I can put my whole hand in but this type of thing is so annoying and I don’t understand why this is even a thing.

  27. Beth says:

I tried to purchase this when the code wasn’t working and now it is expired. Will the promotion be offered again? Also would you recommend this one over the 12w? And if so, why? Thank you so much. Love your reviews!

    • Andrea says:

Hi Beth – I’m sorry, that was a one-time promo from the manufacturer. I don’t think they will be offering the additional discount again. I do recommend the 24-watt over the 12-watt because the curing power is doubled and it will cure even better.

  28. deb says:

Bought this lamp and used the promo code and am loving it! Thanks for sharing with us!

  29. Ritz says:

Got it for 69.99 at Amazon. I love the large opening that can fit in my 5 fingers comfortably! Now I am ready to experiment on some nail art designs.

  30. Tina says:

Bought it using the coupon code and used it for the first time yesterday. I love it! A huge upgrade over my old UV lamp. My nails seem harder than they usually do and I did them in less than half the amount of time. I definitely recommend this lamp.

  31. Andrea says:

Glad to hear you’re all loving the lamp as much as I do! <3

  32. Cheung says:

Just searched online and found your nail blog and the 24-watt led lamp here. Unfortunately the coupon code doesn’t work any more. Probably I will turn to the more affordable 12-watt lamp instead. Love your blog and your awesome work. Thanks!

  33. Angela says:

Andrea, can you please tell me the cure times you recommend for Gelish and Pink Gellac using this lamp. I don’t seem to be getting it quite right.

  34. Shirley says:

Just wanted to confirm, does it cure Gelish products correctly?
    Thank you

  35. Dona LoveCoupons says:

I recently purchased this lamp, without coupon. :((( A cool lamp and works great though.

  36. Tina says:

Will this work for toes? Fit?

  37. Paulina says:

I am getting ready to purchase this lamp. I figure it would be more cost effective if I do my own gel manicure. I do not own anything to do a gel manicure. I am so glad and grateful that I came across ur website. The reviews are amazing. I have this lamp sitting on my Amazon cart, what gel polish do you recommend works best with this type of lamp? And also how long how long does it take to cure?

    • Andrea says:

Hi Paulina – if you hold off for a day or two and watch my site you can get $10 off this lamp. :) More details to come on Monday. All of my LED gel polishes cured perfectly with this lamp. The time depends on the brand – most cure in 30 seconds.

  38. RJ says:

I bought this lamp and I LOVE it! I use Gelish Foundation, Structure Gel, and Top it Off. For color, I use very thin coats of CND Shellac. I have a few colors of Gelish and LeChat, but Shellac is my favorite. The lamp cured my mani perfectly. thanks for such a great review.

  39. Carolina Perez says:

    Hi Andrea,

I’m a little bit concerned with the “opening”. Is there any way the UV rays can be blocked?

    Thanks,

    Caro

    • Andrea says:

Most nail lamps have an opening like that without a shield. You could put something over it to block it if you prefer, or if you’re concerned about your hands/arms you can wear UV blocking gloves.

  40. Shar says:

I have the MS 12 watt and am thinking of upgrading to this. I noticed that to get a good cure with the MS 12, it works best to go for 60 sec, rather than the 30 sec that is recommended on most gel polish bottles. It works at 30, but the polish is more durable with a 60 sec cure. So my question is do you think the upgraded 24 watt MS would cure better and faster? I would love to be able to get a really strong/long lasting cure in 30 seconds. Thanks!

  41. de fegal says:

Hello, does MelodySusie 24 W led cure CND Shellac?

  42. Linda Bregger says:

I bought this after your review. It was my at home personal use. I used it about 6 times over the last 6 months. Seems I got a lemon! It stopped working mid manicure! I contacted Melody Susie via e-mail ONE day after the “6 month” warranty and I’m out of luck, they will not do anything!!!

  43. Jasmine says:

Hi! I’ve bought this lamp after viewing this review, but I tried dally Hansen led gel and it doesn’t dry completely. I can’t figure out why? That one is suppose to be cured by the 12w sally Hansen led lamp which is less powerfull.. Also, I’ve tried to cure only the base coat for 60sec and still didn’t dry… Would it be because this brand doesn’t work with it, or because my lamp has a defect?

    • Andrea says:

I’m sorry, but I don’t know the exact compatibility between every lamp and brand. It could be that the brand doesn’t cure in the specific wavelength of the lamp.

  44. Tiffany says:

Hi Andrea, just curious if you still use this lamp. I am debating buying one but I’m unsure if i should buy the 12 watt or the 24 watt. It is only for at home use! Thanks!

    • Angela says:

A few comments up, June 13, 2015 Shar had a similar question regarding the 12watt MS and the 24watt MS. Andrea’s response was, “…there is a big difference with this lamp. It cures better and faster than the 12w.” I have the 24 watt MS and like it. It cures everything for me except CND Shellac, which cures at a lower wavelength.

    • Andrea says:

Between the two, I would choose the 24w lamp :)

  45. Hayley Hanson says:

Will this lamp cure gelish hard gel? I’m a DIYer looking to upgrade my gelish pro:45. The price of the gelish 18g really puts me off. I also looked at the melody Susie pro 60? But all my polishs currently are LED so not sure it’s worth the extra expense?

  46. Doris Bachorik says:

    Andrea
can you please tell me which one is best the Gelish 18g ,melody Susie 48wt, or the sun. without price being a factor.
