LeChat Rosemantic – The First Scented Mood Polish (Limited Edition)

LeChat Rosemantic Limited Edition Scented Mood Polish - Chickettes.comHave you seen or heard about LeChat’s newest product?  Rosemantic is a brand new limited edition SCENTED mood gel polish!  It smells like roses AND changes colors!  The rose scent is pretty strong when the polish is first applied.  It’s stronger before the top coat is applied.  I recommend using a top coat for the best long-lasting results (without a top coat Rosemantic has a matte finish).  Even with a top coat applied, the rose scent comes through.  The scent starts to fade a little after a few days, but the swatch sticks that I prepared a couple weeks ago still have a hint of rose scent.  And as with all Perfect Match gel polishes, it also comes with a matching nail lacquer.

Rosemantic is a bright bubble gum pink when warm, and classic rose red when cold.  The collage below shows the colors when warm, cold and during transition.  The color is pretty opaque in two coats, but I applied three coats for these swatches.

LeChat Rosemantic Limited Edition Scented Mood Polish - Chickettes.comIt’s possible that this color might be a fader.  The warm color cures to a completely different color when cured in a UV lamp vs an LED lamp.  When cured in a UV lamp the warm color is more of a peachy shade.  The image below shows comparisons on swatch sticks of Rosemantic cured in UV vs LED.  You can see that the cold color is still the same, but the warm colors are vastly different.  I tried to conduct a fade test on the polish that was cured in LED, but it’s been very cold and dark here with little sunlight.  My test was inconclusive.

I personally like the colors both ways, but be aware of this before deciding what type of lamp to use.

Here is a closer look at my transition shot.  It’s a really pretty color combination and is perfect for the upcoming romantic season!

LeChat Rosemantic Limited Edition Scented Mood Polish - Chickettes.comI decided to add a stamped design over Rosemantic to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day.  I really wanted to use a rose image to stick with the theme, but my rose image wouldn’t pick up for the life of me.  I ended up choosing this whimsical heart and swirls design from the Bundle Monster plate BM-612.  I used a light pink stamping polish from Mundo de Unas.

I really don’t understand the purpose of a scented nail polish. If I want to wear a scent, then I will wear perfume of my choice. A scented nail polish might clash with that scent. Besides, there are so many people with allergies that I really try to limit the scents that I wear.

So, it isn’t my cup of tea. But that pink is an absolutely gorgeous pink.
    Hugs, Phyllis

I love this color but I’m nervous to get it because I am sensitive to smells. Do you think extra costs of top coast might block the scent?
And wow! to the difference in color cured in led vs uv. I wonder how many other colors are affected like that?

    • Andrea says:

I don’t think you can block the smell with extra coats of top coat. It’s pretty strong.

was playing around with layering mood polishes. The smell DID go away when I put another color on top. Unfortunately that changes the color.

I am obsessed with trying new products, and I am so excited to see that LeChat has come out with a scented gel polish! The color and rose scent are perfect for Valentines Day!!! This is a must try for me! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

I agree with Phyllis and Simone. Everything has a scent, hand sanitizers, lotion
soap, they all have a different scent. Pretty soon it becomes overload of the
scents. It is an amazing concept, but I think it would narrow the market of
    interested consumers.

  5. Great swatches and love it with the stamps..beautiful

I think I’m going to cure both ways for even more variety of shade! Some with UV, some with LED so I can have the pretty peach and the pink, both fading to red and will unify with a stamp. Thank you so much for the photos and review.

I just purchased this set! I am so excited that you swatched this, it’s a perfect color for Valentine’s day. I found it on buynail.com and with the 25% off code (that still works, even though it “expired” on 12/31/14) it comes out to $11.95! I also happened to pick up one of the other mood collections for a great price with the discount as well! In regards to the scent, I would wonder if it starts to fade faster with hand washing and showers? I will be sure to test it out when I receive it in the mail!

  8. This colour is so cool, love it!

Have this and been testing it almost a month now before using it on clients. The smell DOES fade after a few days though doesn’t truly go away. If you are sensitive to smells its annoying. NO allergic reaction to the fragrance as of yet. So far it has been subtle enough not to overpower or clash with my body lotion let alone any perfume I may be wearing. The color does wear well and does not turn yellow as some mood polishes are want to do. the Matching regular polish is Meh at best as far as quality is concerned. All in all I would recommend this as something different. Ideally though I would prefer it scentless.

Hello! Does anyone know if PERFECT MATCH MOOD Gel Polish cures in an 18 watt LED lamp?
