Halloween Blood Splatter Crime Scene Nail Art

I did some blood splatter nails two years ago for Halloween, and had to try it again using gel polish.  This time I spiced it up a little with some “Crime Scene” tape and a fingerprint stamp.  I used three colors from Revel Nail to create this look… Honor (white), Festival (red) and Harvest (yellow).  I started with three coats of Honor, and then added the yellow stripes with a thin brush.  I stamped the fingerprint using Mundo de Unas black polish & Bundle Monster plate BM-414.

I put a piece of tape over the yellow stripes and added the blood splatter effect by dipping a stirring straw into the red polish and blowing through the straw to make it spray onto my nails.  I used my #00 Wistonia brush and some black acrylic paint to add the lettering, and then topped it all off with the Revel top coat.  What do you think of this look?  Too gory?

I’m sad that my nails are short right now.  I broke the pinky nail and then had to file the rest of them down so it didn’t look so obvious.  Luckily they grow fast and should be back to normal in a couple of weeks.  :)
