Gradients, Lace & Bling
The colors that I used in my gradients are Gelish All Dahlia-ed Up and Rockin the Reef, and then Lime All the Time and Rub Me the Sarong Way. I topped the gradient nails off with one coat of Vegas Nights. My thumb and ring finger have lace designs. I started with three coats of Gelish Clean Slate (this will be coming out in the fall collection in August), and then stamped the honeycomb pattern with Mundo de Unas black and Cheeky Jumbo Plate #5 (Musical Nails). I then stamped another pattern over top of that using the same plate.
And finally the pinky finger has two coats of Gelish Mali-Blu Me Away, and then I methodically placed hex glitters over top. I used my Gelish Foundation as the “glue” for the hex glitters and used a dotting tool to place each individual hex. I’m not sure if it’s noticeable, but I also did those in a gradient pattern. They shift from green, to teal to dark blue. I applied two coats of my Gelish TIO over top to get a nice glassy finish.
Awesome! Does clean slate look even but sheer with just one coat? I think I’d personally prefer more contrast with the black lace ( looking forward to doing this when they come out in fall!). Also do you have a problem with the chunky glitter popping out? I did a manicure with cute little chunky stars stuck into the foundation and then topped with two top it off layers and within 24 hours they had almost all popped right out leaving me scratchy little pits where they were!
Not to discount the gradients, they are awesome I just haven’t tried it the other way… Pretty sure I’d make a huge mess! If you try it and have tips let us all know!
It is even and sheer with any number of coats :) I don’t have issues with the glitters popping out.
so beautyful! ive also ordered the stamping polishes of mundo but still waiting for them to come :) looks really nice!
Yea, mine took about 3-4 weeks to arrive, but it was worth the wait. :)
Hi,
I’ve seen some techniques where they use sponges to create the gradients. But, I think that’s with normal polish. Have you tried this with any of the gel polishes? Just found your site today. It is amazing! Thanks for all the videos!! Gonna be using your links to make purchases! :)
Yea, the sponges soak up the gel polish and it doesn’t build up opacity on the nail.
Awww…love it! Love each and every design and color. The designs are nicely and neatly done. The colors look so great together.
