Gelish Tan Swatches – Skinny Vanilla Latte, Taupe Model & Need a Tan

I have a few tan/neutral Gelish swatches to share with you today. The first one is Skinny Vanilla Latte, a shimmery neutral shade. It’s very warm with some mauve undertones.  I really love this shade and think it works well with my skin tone.  This color is only available in the MINI size, and seems to possibly be a dupe of Eur-So Chic from the Just For You collection (only available in the UK).

Update:  This color fades to a darker brown/tan shade.  It basically loses all of the mauve tones over time… such a shame!

This is Taupe Model, a shimmery tan shade.  This color was released with the House of Gelish collection, but some of the promo materials for that collection show this color and some don’t (the same goes for Strut Your Stuff).  This shade has some cool, brown undertones and I personally don’t think it looks good with my skin tone.

This is Need A Tan, a light tan shade with a creamy finish.  I think this is a great everyday neutral shade and I like that it provides full coverage.  Most of the other light neutrals that I’ve tried were more sheer and showed some visible nail line.

Can you tell me how many coats each of these were? I’ve been looking obsessively for my “perfect” neutral gel polish! Thanks! :)

Need a Tan is one of my favorite colors. It looks so good!

Has Harmony re-formulated Skinny Vanilla Latte? I picked up a bottle about a month ago, and since it was a Christmas present for myself, I finally got to use it last night. The color looks nothing like your swatch, or any other swatches I have seen. As for differences in monitor color, all the descriptions of this color seem off, too. Mine is more of a true neutral/tan with maybe the slightest warmth to it. No mauve to it, at all. It is very sheer, and took 5 (very thin) coats for opacity. I really like the color, but was quite surprised to find out how many others either don’t like it, or have had problems with it, but based off of description alone, it sounds like I have a totally different polish! Any ideas?

I’m sorry, I don’t know. Is yours a mini or full size bottle? I thought that one only came out in a mini size. A couple of people in one of my FB groups said theirs also looked different and had a yellow-ish tint.

Yes, mine is a mini. I thought maybe the different color meant they had worked on the formula to prevent the fading, but sadly, it still fades.

I almost bought skinny latte in a destash, till I saw it fades. Are there any gel top coats out there that have UV blockers?? To help keep it from fading?? ooo maybe you should make one! I know nouveau nail “glass seal” is for use over gel or acrylics, but I don’t think it is a gel.
