Gelish Day Dream Confetti – Limited Edition

I happened to get my hands on a bottle of a limited edition Gelish polish called Day Dream Confetti.  It’s a flakie topper and was exclusively for sale for a limited time at Cosmoprof stores (which is for pros only) on Black Friday of last year.  You can read more about this here.  There was also a matching Morgan Taylor nail lacquer.   If you have access to Cosmoprof you may still be able to find these, but no guarantees.  I was fortunate enough to have a friend pick this up for me.

Day Dream Confetti is what I expected the Trends polish Rough Around the Edges to look like.  It has different colored iridescent flakes in a clear base, and it looks completely different depending on what base color you wear underneath.  I applied one coat of this topper over Gelish I Heart My Instructor, a very dark blue.  With just one layer of top coat over it, this polish is completely smooth and flawless.  If you recall, my Rough Around the Edges was very chunky and lumpy, so this was a pleasant surprise.  I’m not quite sure why they made this LE though – I think it would be a great seller!

I think it would be a top seller, too!

This is what I was really hoping for instead of the result of Rough Around The Edges. I wish we had Cosmoprof stores over here.

  3. I wonder if it was a supply issue? Maybe the flakes were limited? It seems odd they would get it right the first time then get it so wrong with the trends line :/

I was able to pick this up this week at my Cosmoprof (it was in the clearance section) but when I tried to apply it over Bella’s Vampire, the brush started to pick up a lot of the dark color of the BV and smear – it almost looked like the flake glitter was embedded in the darker polish instead of sitting on top pretty like yours. Did you have to put top coat on your dark color before you applied Daydream? Any similar problems applying glitters or toppers over dark colors?

If your brush is picking up color from the previous layer, that’s usually a sign that your polish hasn’t cured all the way so it sounds like your Bella’s Vamp didn’t cure 100%. I didn’t apply a top coat before using Day Dream.

Thanks for the response, Andrea! I am wondering if I need new bulbs in my UV lamp. I’ve had it for 2 years and only have replaced one bulb which went out not long after I bought the lamp. Could old bulbs prevent the color from curing all the way? My Top It Off also picked up a bit of the color as I was applying it but it did seem to cure all the way. I’m considering getting an LED lamp instead…

It could definitely be the bulbs. They lose power after a while and need replaced, even though they may visibly still light up. I never use my UV lamp now that I have LED… it’s so much faster.

Hi Andrea, do you have this for sale or have any idea where I can get it? I’ll do anything to get one bottle of Day Dream Confetti!
