Gelaze Spontaneous Swatch

Ok, so I confess that this is a filler post while I work on swatching a new collection that you’ve all been waiting for!  I promise to have it done soon, but in the meantime here is a swatch of Gelaze Spontaneous.  This is a nice medium purple with a cream finish.  I hear a lot of mixed reviews about the wear and removal of the Gelaze polish without the base coat.  If you have issues with it staying on, use your favorite gel base coat underneath.

Also, here’s a quick tip for when you want to wear a gel mani for just a couple of days… use a regular nail polish base underneath.  Apply it to your nails, let it dry and then apply your gel mani as usual over top.  You should get at least a few days wear out of it if you aren’t handling nail polish remover, but it won’t last much longer than that.  I did that this past weekend with my graduation mani.  All of my nails but one made it through a 4 day weekend and the rest soaked off easily.

Pretty color! Great tip about using regular top coat underneath. I always wondered how you swatches so many gels. Sometimes, it can take me a full 15 min to get the gel off. Such a pain sometimes. Anyways- gorgeous. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

    Andrea,
After you apply your color do you use top it off or a regular top coat?

    Two questions:
    1. Why would anyone want a peel off base for regular use?

    2. Need a new top coat and want the most shine, suggestions?

You wouldn’t want it for regular use, only if you wanted to wear a mani for a very short period of time. My Gelish top coat is the shiniest one I have ever used.
