Dark Teal Swatches: Gelaze Turned Up Turquoise & Couture Teal the Show
I have a couple of darker teal swatches today since I posted some lighter teal swatches a few days ago. The first one is Gelaze Turned Up Turquoise, a bright shimmery teal. I really love this color, but I was expecting it to be slightly more opaque. I still had some visible nail line after three coats and it went on a little streaky. This one needs to be mixed well or it will show the brushstrokes. It’s a really fun color for spring and summer and I’m sure I’ll get some wear out of this. I might put some undies under it next time I wear it though.
This is Couture Teal the Show. This is another gorgeous color for spring and summer. It’s not quite as bright as the color above and has more green undertones. It also has a shimmery finish, and was nice and opaque with three coats.
How do these compare against some of the other teals you have?
Also, how do you manage to swatch so much on the same hand? I would think that it takes so much time!
Where did u buy Couture Teal the Show? I love that one. It doesn’t look like it shows as much of the brush strokes. Would you say it’s less bright than Gelish My Middle Name is Radiance?

I am really starting to like the Couture brand. You have to buy it directly from the website so isn’t as easy as Gelish but it is now my 2nd fav brand after Gelish. Thank you Andrea for all the great swatches!!!
Yes, it’s not quite as accessible, but it’s a great quality brand. Michelle over at Manic Talons has tons of Couture swatches, so be sure to check her site out. I only own a handful of their colors.
Did you have any problems removing the China Gelaze? I have tried lots of different gel polishes and the China Gelaze was awful to remove.
I didn’t have any issues with removal. I thought it would soak off faster than normal since there isn’t a base, but it still took the same amount of time as any other gel polish.
