Daisy Duo Swatches

I have a few swatches of Daisy Duo soak-off gel polishes. The Daisy Duos come in a package with a matching bottle of regular nail polish, which is why they’re called duos… you get two for the price of one. These polishes don’t require a base coat – you apply them directly onto your nail, saving a step in the normal gel polish application process. You can see some of my other Daisy gel polish swatches here.

For each of these swatches I applied three coats of color and a top coat.  Most of the colors had pretty good coverage with just two coats.

This first color is Cherry Berry, and the name pretty much sums it up!  It definitely reminds me of ripe cherries.  This is a really classic color that can be worn year-round.

Daisy Duo gel polish - Cherry BerryI applied one coat of Grape Field Star over Cherry Berry for some added sparkle.  This is a glitter topper with purple holographic glitter.  Per the instructions on the bottle, the glitter toppers need to be shaken really well to get good coverage.

Daisy Duo gel polish - Cherry Berry with Grape Field StarGulf Stream is a lovely medium blue.  This is my favorite of these colors, but you already know I’m partial to blues and teals.  This shade of blue is slightly greyer than some of the other blues that have come out this season, so it’s not super bright.  It’s another great year-round shade.

Daisy Duo gel polish - Gulf StreamAnd Wood Lake is a really nice neutral brown/grey taupe shade.  Taupes and tans are really growing on me lately.  This is a great classic shade to wear to the office or to a job interview.

On 9 September 2012, you did a review of a Daisy brand Soak-Off Gel Polish (http://www.chickettes.com/daisy-gel-soak-off-polish-review/). Is this the same label as the Daisy Duos?

You didn’t seem to like the product in that particular review because it didn’t wear well, so I’m wondering how the Daisy Duos compare.

Yes it’s the same brand, but the duos have a new formula. I haven’t had any wear issues with the new formula. :)

I like the glitter! I have 1 Daisy Duo and it’s super thick :( I manage to make it work after sitting it in warm water though. I wanted to see if you could help me find a color. I’m looking for a medium red…I currently have Gelish Standout but it’s soooo thin. It drives me crazy to put so many coats on and still have visible nail line. I also have Gelish My Forbidden Love and I like the application and the shimmer but want something lighter. I was considering Gelish Queen of Hearts but wondered about the application…do you have any recommendations? Brand doesn’t matter…I just want a pretty red that is opaque in 2-3 coats! Thank you!

Queen of Hearts is one of my favorite reds – it applies really nicely and has great coverage. Which Daisy Duo color do you have?

Okay thanks! I think I’ll give that one a try! Daisy Duo Rose Petal Pink is the one I have. I was honestly let down by more than the application of it…the RNP was more of what I was expecting from the gel, it was a softer, creamier color and I liked it much better. The gel was more bright, almost neon and didn’t look like the swatch on their website. Oh well :)

Hi Anna, I have CND Shellac Wildfire. Fits any skintone and is opaque in 2 coats!

The blue one looks amazing. I super like the color for its not too light and not too dark. Its a very summery color.
