Blue and White Gradient Nails with Snowflakes

Today’s post is just a quickie nail art design that I did this week.  I wanted to do a blue and white gradient with white snowflakes over top.  It didn’t turn out quite as elegant as I had imagined in my head due to the stamping image that I selected, which is a winter sweater snowflake pattern.  It looks nice, but I would like to try this again with a different snowflake pattern or maybe some freehand snowflakes.

I started with two coats of Gelish Arctic Freeze, and then burnished two pigment powders into the tacky layer to create the gradient effect (INK Masquerade & CND Cerulean Blue). Watch this video to learn how to create gradients and some other cool effects using pigments/additives.  I wish I would’ve thought to take a picture of the gradient before I applied the stamp, because it was really pretty on its own.

I applied a thin layer of top coat over my gradient, wiped the tacky layer and then stamped the snowflake pattern onto my nails using Mundo de Unas white stamping polish and an image from the MoYou Festive 06 plate.

What do you know about the new gel steam-off systems? Priced about $90.

Oh, yippee! I’ll be waiting. The website does not give any info at all. I could call them, but now I prefer to wait for your review. Enjoy your vacation.

Hi Andrea, what are your favorite inexpensive stamping plates?

    • Andrea says:

      Probably the Bundle Monster plates

Thank you! Are BM plates better compared to Pueen? I cannot choose which ones to buy first. Which one is better for stamping newbies?

        • Andrea says:

I don’t think I own any Pueen plates, so I really can’t compare them. I have some on my Amazon wishlist and the designs look great. I don’t think you can go wrong either way!
