BCL | CND | Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship

My recent nail school update left out the most exciting news I’ve received in a while… I was selected as one of the winners of the BCL | CND | Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship! It’s a huge honor and I’m so thrilled to have been selected! You can see and read the full announcement here on Modern Salon.

I wanted to post about this separately to bring attention to this wonderful opportunity. This program is funded by CND and administered by Beauty Changes Lives Foundation, and twice a year they award ten people with a scholarship covering 100% of tuition costs of up to $5,000.  If you are currently enrolled in nail school or are thinking about going to nail school, this is definitely something to consider applying for!  Applications for the next round are being accepted now through August 17th.

The application requires either a short essay or a video that describes your reasons for wanting to become a nail professional, highlights your personal goals for the future, and expresses your passion for the industry.  You also have to put together an inspiration board that shows what inspires you.  I have no idea what any other entries look like, but I thought I would share mine to spark some ideas for anyone that wants to apply.

This is the inspiration board that I created in Photoshop. It has some words and sayings that describe what I aspire for, and has photos of my family, my nail room, and some of my nail art.

I chose to create a video because I felt that I could be more expressive visually and verbally.  I spent about 5 hours creating a 2 minute video!  LOL  I showed some of my nail art first and then talked about my reasons for wanting to become a nail professional.
